There is one mathematical method that is used to come to the number one that can serve as a right model for oneness in marriage. That mathematical model is exponential math. Exponential math joins 2 or more numbers in a way that the value of the numbers involved are enhanced. In the other mathematical methods I referred to in earlier blogs the number one was either lessened or duplicated by the number it related to, but in exponential math the number one is increased by the number it relates to. It is not increased in numerical value, but it is increased in its’ power: It is 1 raised to the power of 2.When you look it you see the number 1 but when you feel its impact you feel the number 2. Those who are joined together in this way move through life as 1 but their impact on life has the power of 2. When two become one in this way life does not get worse, neither does it remain the same, it gets better.
This is what God’s method of becoming one is like: It is when two complete people join together to form a greater one. They must be complete because they both must come to the relationship to give of themselves selflessly for the good of the marriage no matter what the personal sacrifice.
In other words, only those who believe that God is love and therefore seek to dwell in God by surrendering their will to Jesus daily can become one in the way that pleases God because they depend on:
- The right source: Jesus.
- The right kind of love: Selfless.
- The right purpose: To fulfill God’s purpose for marriage.
Next week I am going to begin to show how becoming one through daily surrender of the will to Jesus significantly improves the 3 aspects of oneness: Bonding, control and submission. Until they I leave you with this portion of scripture to ponder and pray over:
17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, [art] in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 17:22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:… 17:25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. 17:26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare [it]: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
