Last week I discussed the first principle of ministry mindset which is found in Romans 8:28 and reads as follows:
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose. (Emphasis supplied).
This tells us that those who live by the ministry mindset are guaranteed to experience God-size success because God is ordering their steps (see Psalms 37:23) and everything that He allows to happen is ordained to work to accomplish His purpose for their lives (see Ephesians 2:10).
This brings me to the second principle of ministry mindset which is found in Colossians 3:23&24 and it reads as follows:
3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do [it] heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 3:24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. Colossians 3:23&24 (Emphasis supplied).
This tells us the attitude we must have towards everything that we do. The first principle of ministry mindset tells us that God is ordering our steps and everything that He allows to happen in our lives is ordained to accomplish His purpose for our lives. When we accept and live by that principle then we must remember that everything we do must be done in a way that brings glory to God. Why: Because we serve God 24/7 who will reward our faithfulness no matter what evil man intended or how bad the circumstances may seem to be. This is the second principle and it is why Jesus said:
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16 (Emphasis supplied).
Next week I will deal with the third principle of the ministry mindset. Until then I leave you with this portion of scripture to ponder and pray over:
10:35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. 10:3 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. (Emphasis supplied).
