Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. Revelation 14:7 (Emphasis supplied).
I ended last week’s blog by saying that the 1st angel’s message tells us the work that Jesus is doing to save this final generation is the work of judgment and it is therefore absolutely necessary that we only worship the God of creation 24/7. Romans 8:5-6 & 12-14 tells us why. It says:
8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 8:6 For to be carnally minded [is] death; but to be spiritually minded [is] life and peace… 8:12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (Emphasis supplied).
Only those who are spiritually minded 24/7, who mind or surrender to the Spirit and not the flesh will live because they will have the power to mortify the deeds of the body/the flesh (see v.5-6 &13): Those who are carnally minded 24/7, who mind or surrender to the things of the flesh and not the Spirit will die because they will not have the power to mortify the deeds of the body/the flesh (see v.12&13). Therefore, only those who are led by the Spirit of God 24/7 will ultimately prove to be the sons (children) of God (see v.14) because only those who surrender their will daily to the Holy Spirit (#7) will have the power to destroy the sinful deeds of their flesh (#6). I say this because of what we are told in I John 3:1-3 which tells us why it will be necessary to mortify the deeds of the body (the flesh) at this time. It says:
3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. (Emphasis supplied).
Only those who heed the 1st angel’s message will be prepared to meet the Lord in peace because only those who heed the 1st angel’s message will be able to mortify the deeds of the body to the point that when Jesus returns to this earth they will be as pure as He is ( Please re-read I John 3:2&3).
Notice what we are told in I John 1:5-7:
1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (Emphasis supplied).
This tells us that God is light and those who have constant fellowship with Him will walk in the light and be cleansed from all sin. Notice it did not say Jesus’ blood would just cleanse us from a particular sin, it said Jesus’ blood would cleanse us from all sin (v.7). In other words I John 1:5-7 tells us that in order to be as pure or as holy as Jesus we must do these 2 very important things:
- Have constant fellowship with God and in order to do that we must do the 2nd important thing, which is:
- Walk in the light that God sheds as a result of our constant fellowship with Him.
These are the very 2 things we are told to do in the 1st angel’s message only in reverse.
Next week I am going to show how these are the same 2 things we are told to do in the 1st angel’s message only in reverse. I will also go into more detail on how doing these 2 things will cause us to walk after the Spirit of God 24/7 which will make it possible for the blood of Jesus to cleanse us from all sin and prepare us to meet Jesus in peace when He returns. Until then I leave you with this portion of scripture to ponder and pray over:
3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 3:11 [Seeing] then [that] all these things shall be dissolved, what manner [of persons] ought ye to be in [all] holy conversation and godliness, 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. I Peter 3:11-14 (Emphasis supplied).
