4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 4:14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy [are ye]; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 4:15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or [as] a thief, or [as] an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters. 4:16 Yet if [any man suffer] as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 4:17 For the time [is come] that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if [it] first [begin] at us, what shall the end [be] of them that obey not the gospel of God? 4:18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? 4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls [to him] in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
Judgment begins at the house of God because it is meant to prepare His people for His coming. Notice God’s people are those who obey the gospel in its’ present truth form. For instance, in Noah’s time the gospel was God will purify the earth from sin by a worldwide flood because in order to save mankind He must put a check on the progression of sin: But Jesus has made a way of escape for those who believe in Him and that way of escape is the Ark that God has commissioned Noah to build. Therefore, the present truth gospel for Noah’s generation was if you believe the everlasting gospel (Jesus Saves) then get in the Ark because this is what Jesus is doing to save this generation. Those who believed that present truth gospel did the work of faith and were saved: Those who didn’t believe did not do the work of faith and were lost. What was the work of faith at that time? The work of faith was to get on the Ark that Jesus had provided to save His people.
God has given this generation the 3 angel’s messages to tell us that the work Jesus is doing to save us is the work of judgment and in order to be saved we must worship God 24/7. Those who hear and obey this message will have to do 2 things:
- Come out of Babylon (which is the lie that makes you believe you can worship God and mammon).
- Receive the seal of God and not the mark of the beast.
I say this because of what we are told in I John 1:5-7 which reads as follows:
1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (Emphasis supplied).
This tells us that those who have unbroken fellowship with God will be cleansed from all sin because God is light and those who have unbroken fellowship with God will have to walk in all the light that God sheds. Therefore, those who hear and obey the 1st angel’s message will be cleansed from all sin because the first angel’s message tells us to worship God 24/7 because the hour of God’s judgment is come (see Revelation 14:6&7). In other words, it tells us to have unbroken fellowship with God so we can be saved by Jesus’ cleansing work of judgment that is going on right now.
Notice what we are told in Ecclesiastes 12:13&14:
12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this [is] the whole [duty] of man. 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether [it be] good, or whether [it be] evil. (Emphasis supplied).
The wisest man to ever live (King Solomon) tells us that only those who fear God and keep His commandments will be able to stand in God’s final judgment because the final judgement will reveal every secret thing good or bad. In other words, God’s people who are alive when Jesus comes again will have to be without spot and blameless: Therefore those who will be saved when Jesus comes will be those who Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this [is] the whole [duty] of man.
In light of what we are told in Ecclesiastes 12:13&14 is it any wonder that the gospel for this generation is that Jesus is doing a saving work of judgment now, while He is still interceding for our sins: Therefore, worship Him 24/7 so you can walk in the light He sheds. Notice what I John 1:8-10 tells us what we must do in order to walk in the light:
1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
In summary, the key to being without spot and blameless when Jesus comes is to have unbroken fellowship with God by worshiping Him only 24/7: Those who worship God 24/7 will walk in holiness 24/7 because they will constantly surrender to or agree with the conviction of God’s judgment through Jesus and confess their sins: As they walk in the light by agreeing with and surrendering to Jesus’ work of judgment they will not only be forgiven but they will also be cleansed from all the unrighteousness that is associated with those sins. Therefore, those who hear and obey the first angel’s message will keep the 4th commandment in its fullest sense because they will walk in holiness 24/7 which requires that you be in constant agreement with God.
When Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree they broke the Sabbath because they chose to worship another god and broke their connection with their creator. Is it any wonder then that we will be fully redeemed from sin as a result restoring that connection by keeping the Sabbath holy 24/7: Only those who do this will be able to stand before God without spot and blameless when Jesus comes to execute the final judgment (see Jude 1:14&15). This is why the devil hates the 4th commandment: He knows that when God’s people keep it in light of the present truth gospel he and all who loved his lie(s) will be destroyed (see II Thessalonians 2:7-13 & Revelation 14:12-20).
This ends the Present Truth series. However, before I start the next series I want to take time to answer any questions you may have concerning what I have covered in this series. I want to do this because I have covered a lot of information that can be hard to understand or to see how to apply practically in your daily living and I want to make this information as practical as possible. Therefore, I will spend the next two weeks answering questions I feel important to give you time to send in your questions.
Next week I will start by answering this question:
Does walking in holiness 24/7 negate our obligation to keep the 7th Day Sabbath holy in a special manner and if not what are some of the things we can or must do in order to keep it different from the other 6 days?
Until then I leave with this spirit filled quote taken from the book, In Heavenly Places, page 33, paragraph 4:
Holiness is constant agreement with God. Shall we not strive to be that which Christ so greatly desires us to be–Christians in deed and in truth–that the world may see in our lives a revelation of the saving power of truth? This world is our preparatory school. While here we shall meet with trials and difficulties. Continually the enemy of God will seek to draw us away from our allegiance. But while we cleave to Him who gave Himself for us we are safe. (Emphasis supplied).
